this just in

This just came in from Tman. i haven’t looked into any of this, nor do i have any special insight into what’s going on in colombia. frankly i’m surprised by the dire tone of this message. it could be a scam, it could be a humanitarian effort, it could be satire gone horribly wrong.

what do i know? i barely know what’s happening in panama. Tman’s a regular here, so i felt inclined to post his message. but feel free to ask him anything you’d like about this. Cojito

in light of the most recent USA govt warnings about travel to Colombia based on breakdown of recent prisoner exchanges in that country with the farc…we are posting the following news item and appeal …

Until further notice, I am recommending all gringos stay out of Colombia until a few of us “connected” to the country can assess the direction these threats and dangers are going. We are currently working with the government on setting up a reserve support fund for gringo-loving chicas until this danger has passed. It may still take a few years to get the FARC back under control again, so until then we suggest you enjoy the Colombianas who have been exported to Costa Rica, Panama and Miami. Now obviously these Colombianas are going to need to charge more since they will now need to send MORE money back home to make up for what their sisters are no longer making off gringo tourists to Medellin and elsewhere.

Some of us brave, undercover gringo agents will continue to sneak dollars to Colombia through Cartagena, Medellin, Cali and Bogota as goodwill ambassadors of America…bringing relief to the poor and mending as many broken hearts as we can. If any of you want to participate in this humanitarian mission, you can send money via Paypal that we will get to one of your “adopted” Colombianas. For only $300 per month, your Colombiana will be able to eat, pay her rent and feed her baby(s) without need to work or visit nefarious hotels or houses in places like Poblado. We are currently working on our non-profit corp status so your contributions can be tax deductible.

We also will start a monthly newsletter from the trenches of warfare in Colombia…complete with photos of your supported Colombiana with a beautiful smile and grateful to God for your help during these perilous times in Colombia.

Your support and heartfelt prayers are greatly appreciated…and once again…we will let you know as soon as it is safe for you to visit your Colombiana favorite. Until then, enjoy your renewed ties to San Jose, Panama City and other places where you can still get a taste of Colombiana warmth and passion. You can send your Colombianas address, phone and email to “iluvcolombianas@excite.com” . We require photos for identification sake before giving them money.

  1. “it could be a scam, it could be a humanitarian effort, it could be satire gone horribly wrong”…it could be all the above.

OK…so this satirical piece assumes too much prior knowledge from some readers…so let me extrapolate…

Panama and Colombia have intrinsic connection in that less than 100 years ago Panama was part of greater Colombia. Then the US govt stepped in, as they often have in this century, and paid some Colombian insiders a handsome sum from the tax coffers to free the Panamanians from Colombian rule inexchange for rights to complete a canal across the isthmus of Panama. Then in 1979 Jimmy Carter gave the canal to the Panamanians while still guarenteeing American “rights” to protect its strategic interests in the canal. Good return on investment on your american tax dollars? good question.

now in the past 2 plus decades our american tax dollars have been spent by the billions to fight a losing war on drugs in colombia…with the motivation apparently being to protect us gringo victims from our uncontrollable drug habits (sniff sniff). Of course this has somehow involved us in the ongoing semi civil war in colombia with the farc guerillas et al. So much so that the US embassy in Bogota issued this travel warning for americans 3 days ago. https://www.osac.gov/Reports/report.cfm?contentID=77891

now…since a number of my gringo friends have fallen in lust love in Medellin and a couple other cities…they are quite upset at our government’s meddling creating all this danger for maintaining the support line of these poor but fine colombian ladies. perhaps now you can better see the reason for our humanitarian mission in keeping the flow of dollars going to these girls instead of to the cartels…or the cartels bank accounts in maimi, panama, mexico and costa rica. it truly is a good cause.
